
Phantom power troubleshooting
Should you encounter problems with your phantom power supply unit, please consult this troubleshooting
section for possible solutions. If the suggestions below do not solve your problem, please contact your dealer
for assistance.
This troubleshooting section contains the most frequently occurring issues, and is not a complete list of all
possible errors, defects or solutions. This section contains subjects that are based on phantom power supply
units. As such, it may be that not all of the problems, causes or solutions listed are applicable to your
situation, because product details may differ.

Possible Cause
Solution
The connected microphone does
not work (well)
Phantom power unit is not turned
on
Turn on the phantom power supply
unit via the on/off switch
Device is not being powered
Check whether the power adapter
is plugged into an active power
socket and is securely plugged
into the power connector on the
unit.
Switch is in the wrong position
You can check if the switch is in
the correct position by looking at
the LED status indicators next to
the device inputs.
Microphone cable is not properly
connected or is defective
Check if the signal cables are
properly connected to the source
unit, the phantom power unit, and
the target device. Try using a
different cable if the previous
solution does not work.
Input or output defective
Try using a different input and
output as a test, or try connecting
a different phantom power unit, in
order to rule out the possibility that
the device is defective.
Mute function is active on the
mixer, interface or recorder
Check the input channel on the
mixer, interface or recorder
Microphone is defective
Try connecting a different
microphone to rule out the
possibility that the problem is with
the microphone.
Channel input is defective
Try using a different input channel
on the mixer, audio interface or
recorder.
