Possible cause
Solution
The microphone isn’t
working (on a
computer, tablet, etc)
The device is not
recognised
Check the system device manger to
see if the device is working correctly.
If not, use system software to
remove the device and re-connect
the device (via a different USB port,
if possible).
The USB cable isn’t
connected properly
Check if the USB cable is connected
properly on both ends and/or try
using a different USB cable. If this
doesn’t help, contact your retailer.
Volume is too low or the
microphone is muted
Check the volume settings and
make sure the device isn’t muted by
any relevant software or settings on
the host device
Microphone isn’t
working on a different
device
The device is connected to
an incompatible device
This microphone is only compatible
with devices that can function as a
USB host, such as computers,
tablets, etc. Connecting the
microphone to a random USB port
may result in the microphone not
working properly.
Lots of noise
Microphone is too far away
from the source or the
source is not loud enough
Place the microphone closer to the
source so that it is registered with as
much volume as possible. This limits
the amount of gain needed to bring
the sound to the right level and limits
any subsequent noise.
Unwanted ambient
noise
Loud or harsh sounds
‘Harsh’ sounds likes P, T, K, S and F
can cause unwanted noise. Use a
pop filter (not included) to reduce
this effect.
Wind and/or ambient noise
Use a wind-shield (not included) to
limit the bleeding of any ambient
noise into the signal of the
microphone.
Microphone keeps
falling over
Unstable positioning
Ensure that the microphone is
installed securely inside the shock
