The ultimate instrumentation for finishing and polishing
Instructions for use of Profin PDH
General
The main advantage with the PDH instrument is to reduce, finish and polish tooth surfaces without creating
grooves or blemishes.
The LTA Lamineer tips can be mounted in the angled holder for use in distal areas, or in the straight holder for
anterior areas.
The tips can also be used in two positions. One allows the tip to rotate to follow the contour of the tooth, nor
-
mally used during polishing and finishing. The other position allows the tip to be fixed in eight various settings
when high accuracy is required, e.g. for creating individual structures for aesthetic appearance.
Choosing tip
A general recommendation is to use more coarse tips when larger amounts of material are to be removed.
Removal of material should always be made successively from tips with more coarse grit to finer.
Preparations
Insert the shank of the tip into the required holder – angled or straight.
Check that it fits safely by pulling the tip gently with your fingers. A firm resistance should be sensed.
The tips can be used in two positions:
Position A – The tip can rotate along its’ axis. It will then follow the contours of the tooth easily.
Position B – The tip is in a locked position for improved tactility. To change the position – pull out the tip, turn
into desired position and push it back into a suitable notch in the holder.
Maintenance
Profin PDH can be cleaned in ultrasonic baths, washer disinfectors (max 95°C) and autoclaved (max 134°C).
• Begin by flushing off larger debris under running water.
• Us a non-metal brush to avoid scratching the instrument.
• Wipe off with a soft cloth.
• Disinfect and sterilize the hand instrument.
LTA Tips can be cleaned in ultrasonic baths, washer disinfectors (max 95°C) and autoclaved (max 134°C).
• Remove debris from the diamond surface by rubbing it against a cleaning block for diamonds, alternatively
in ultra-sonic bath.
• Disinfect and sterilize the tips.
Note:
• Don’t move directly from super-coarse to super-fine tips in one step, but use intermediate medium-coarse
• The black Tungsten-Carbide-coated tips can always be used for finishing when there is a risk for scarring the
enamel, since Tungsten-Carbide does not scar or scuff enamel.
• The durability of diamonds depends on the circumstances, for continued efficiency it is recommended not to
use them more than 30-40 times.
• If a tip comes out too easily from the instrument, discard it and use another tip
Instrucciones de uso de Profin PDH
General
resistencia firme.
