The Demeter TGA 2.1 Guitar Amplifier
Congratulations! You have purchased James Demeter’s latest advance, the TGA-2.1 Inverter. This meticulously hand-
built amplifier features the latest in Retro/Modern tube amplifier design, the latest evolution in the Demeter series of
rugged, roadworthy professional products. The TGA-2.1 is extremely versatile, with more usable tones than you will
find anywhere. Hook up, plug in, and enjoy!
Please read this manual and check out the logical control layout. Familiarize yourself with the Gain structures of the
CLEAN, EDGE, and SOLO settings. You will easily find many sweet spots, both pure and hybrid tones. This is an
important difference between the TGA-2.1 and most other amps. It doesn’t have only one sweet spot, but a wide
range of really alive sounds.
Safety Precautions:
1. Do not use the unit in excessively moist environments.
2. Although not required, it is recommended to leave 1 rack space above the unit to allow for proper ventilation
and to elongate the life of the tubes.
3. This unit is equipped with a grounding plug as a safety feature. Please do not remove the ground on the unit. If
you are experiencing noise in the signal, try lifting the ground on the signal source.
4. DO NOT OPERATE UNIT without making sure that a speaker (load) is connected to it. If you have a TGA-
2.1 COMBO amp, the speaker(s)will come connected, but it is a good idea to check anyway. A tube amp can
burn out its output transformer (an expensive repair) if operated without being connected to a speaker.
5. If you want to use your favorite 4x12cab, make sure you match your speakers’ IMPEDANCE (see appendix)
to the speaker jack on the BACK PANEL of the TGA-2.1. There are 3 speaker output jacks, 4,8, and 16
OHMS
6. If this is the first time it is powered up, don’t plug in your instrument yet. This is a LOUD amp, so check your
FRONT PANEL controls and zero out your gains and master volume first.
