Changing the saw chain

Never fix a new saw chain on a

worn set of teeth or on a damaged

or worn blade.

1. Switch off the equipment and discon

nect from the mains.

2. Undo the blade fixing screw (

and take off the chain wheel cover (

3. Take off the old saw chain (

2).

The assembly and tensioning of the new

saw chain are described in the “Assem-

bly” chapter.

Maintaining the blade

Use cut-protection gloves when

handling the chain or the chain

bar.

1. Switch off the saw and pull out the

power plug (

31).

2. Remove the sprocket chain wheel

covering (6), the saw chain (2) and

the chain bar (3).

3. Check the chain bar (3) for wear. Re-

move burrs and straighten the guide

surfaces with a flat file.

4. Clean the oil passages (

27) of

the chain bar, in order to guarantee

a trouble-free, automatic oiling of the

saw chain during operation.

5. Mount chain bar (3), chainsaw (2) and

sprocket chain wheel covering (6) and

tighten the chainsaw.

When the oil channels are in opti-

mum condition, the saw chain au-

tomatically sprays a little oil a few

seconds after the saw is started.

The chain bar (3) must be turned round

every 10 working hours, in order to guar-

antee uniform wear.

Turning over the bar (3) requires you to

move the tensioning screw (

30a) to the

other side of the bar. Unscrew the retain-

ing bolt (

30b) attaching the bar to the

tensioning screw. Move the tensioning

screw over to the other side of the bar and

screw the retaining bolt back (

30b) in.

Maintenance intervals

Carry out the maintenance work listed

in the table below at regular intervals.

Regular maintenance of your equipment

extends the lifespan of the equipment.

You will also achieve optimum cutting per-

formances and avoid accidents.
