Always use the Dell E-support tool to resolve any problems with your computer. If 
your E-support tool does not work properly, see “Dell WebPC Support Policy,” found 
later in this chapter, for more information on when and how to call Dell for technical or 
customer assistance. The Dell contact telephone numbers are listed at the end of this 
chapter.

If you need assistance with a technical problem, perform the following steps:

1.

Press the E-support button on the front of your computer, and use the E-support 
tool to diagnose your computer or find information or software downloads that 
will resolve the problem. For instructions, see Chapter 2, “Using Dell E-support.”

2.

Complete the troubleshooting checks in Chapter 3, “Basic Troubleshooting.”

3.

If the preceding steps do not resolve the problem, call Dell for technical 
assistance.

When prompted by Dell’s automated telephone system, enter your Express Ser-
vice Code to route the call directly to the proper support personnel. You can 
locate your Express Service Code on the back of your computer, or by pressing 
the E-support button and clicking
