18.5.1 Unsuccessful broadcast attempt(s)

Problem

PICUS reports a broadcast to one or more controllers failed.

Possible cause(s)

• Ethernet cable(s) are not connected between PICUS and necessary controller(s), if not connected

directly.

• Possible damage to Ethernet cable(s).

Checks and
recovery

• Check the Ethernet cable(s) are connected correctly between controllers within the DEIF network.

◦ If you are not plugged directly into the controller(s) you are trying to access, check the cabling is

securely plugged in to all necessary Ethernet ports between controller(s).

It is always recommended to directly connect your computer to one of the controllers.
Connection via a network or USB network adaptor may cause loss of communication
or poor communication performance.

• Check the Ethernet cable(s) for any damage.

◦ Check the cabling between controller(s) has not been accidentally damaged.

◦ Replace any damaged cables.
