6.4 PHE4 U voltage detector with switchable voltage range
Switching the voltage range from level I to level II
The
PHE4 U
voltage detector can be switched to a second nominal voltage / nominal voltage range.
6.4.1 Level I
Press the red
switch-on button
on the indicator for at least 3 seconds:
The red LEDs flash three times, the acoustic signal sounds at the same time. After that, the red LEDs light up
permanently and a continuous acoustic signal sounds.
Release the
switch-on button
:
The green LED lights up and indicates that the device is operational (no acoustic signal)
Level I
, see 6.5.1,
page 12.
6.4.2 Level II
Keep the red
switch-on button
pressed after
level I
(functional test). After about 4 seconds, the red LEDs start
flashing. After that, the red LEDs light up again permanently and a continuous acoustic signal sounds.
Release the switch-on button:
Both
green LEDs
light up and indicate that the device is operational in
level II
(no acoustic signal)
Level II
,
see 6.5.1, page 12.
Switch off the device by shortly pressing the button and switch it on again to get back to
level I
(see Fig. 6.1).
6.5 Use of the PHE4 voltage detector in the installation
After performing the functional test, the green
LED
lights up permanently, meaning that the device
is operational. If required, the relevant voltage range must be selected (see 6.4). The electrode / test
electrode of the
PHE4
voltage detector must be moved closer to the installation part to be tested
within about 4 minutes.
The relevant voltage / operating state of the installation part to be tested is now indicated via the
indication signals of the voltage detector (see 6.5.1, page 12).
