DEFA Home Relay DIN is a wirelessly controlled 230V relay control unit for mounting in fuse
boxes that use DIN rails. The control unit uses three potential free 16A relays that can indepen-
dently connect to a DEFA Home Base Unit zone (zone 1-6) or function (A, W or S).
The control unit can be used the same way as a DEFA Home Socket. When in switch mode
it will turn power ON and OFF for the set zone. In thermostat mode each relay/zone uses the
temperature read from the wireless temperature sensor connected to each zone. Example
usages for the control unit; heating cables, water heaters, lighting, etc.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR INSTALLERS
The product is served with 230V AC. The connection is marked with N and L on the product.
One must install a 2-pole switch on the power intake of the product.
When the product is connected to systems where an N-neutral conductor exists, the phase
conductor (L1) must be fused. An example of this kind of system is a TN-C-S system.
If the product is connected to a system where a N-neutral conductor does not exist, or if the
system consists of one-phase 2 conductors (L1 and L2) both phase conductors must be fused.
Fuses used must be 10A - 16A. The product must only be installed in an approved fuse box /
installation box. Ensure that the installation is done by a qualified electritian
RELAY OUTPUTS
The product has 3 embedded potential free 16A bistable relays. The relays has a PDT contact
where the center conductor alternates from right to left when the relay is activated. At loads
above 16A ext. contactors must be used. Inductive loads are also controlled by ext. contactors.
