7.1 Connecting Communication Devices to Your Workstation
3. Press the adapter connector all the way into the communications connector
on the system unit and tighten the screws until they hold the adapter
firmly in place.
4. Hold the connector on your device cable so the clip is on your left.
5. Push the cable connector into the connector on the adapter until the cable
connector clicks into place.

Hold the 25-pin communications
connector adapter so its widest
part is on top.
Hold the cable connector
so the clip is to your left.
If your printer, plotter, or modem fails to work, see the troubleshooting
instructions in the documentation that came with the device or ask your
system manager for help.
7.2 Installing a Console Terminal
If you are using one of the workstations on your network as a server, you may
connect a terminal to it as a system console if a monitor is not available. The
system console displays error messages and other system messages from the
workstation, from networks, and from the workstation software. You also use
the system console to enter console commands, and to read error messages if
the monitor is not working.
