Restoring the tyre colour
Over time, the front and rear tyres may gather dust and take on
a whitish appearance. To restore them to their original colour,
follow the steps below: these steps show the front tyre, but they
also apply to the rear tyre.
Tools
Silicone-based oil spray
Newspaper
Cross wrench
Grease (Stage 6)
Brush
Paper towel
If the front tyre has whitened, remove the front wheel
from the assembly.
Twist the tyre to loosen up the dust. Brush the surface of
the tyre with an old toothbrush to dislodge any dust that
is caught in the tread.
Remove the tyre from the wheel.
Wipe the oil from the tyre with a paper
towel. Make sure there is no oil left on
the tyre.
Use a paper towel to rub the grease into
the surface of the tyre, and then wipe
away any excess.
Apply a light mineral-based grease –
such as the grease that was supplied
with Stage 6 – to the outer surface of
the tyre.
Place the tyre on an old newspaper
and spray with a silicone-based oil to
clean it.
