Selecting LINA Network DAC as the audio output device on your computer
To listen to music from your computer on the unit, you may need to change your preferred
audio output device.
macOS™
1.
Select Finder.
2.
Select the Go tab.
3. Select Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup.
4. Use the right mouse button to select dCS Lina Network DAC.
5. Select Use this device for sound output.
6. To get the best sound quality, set the format to 384000.0Hz and 2ch-24bit Integer.

Close Audio MIDI Setup.
Windows™ 10 and Windows™ 8.1
1.
Open the Control Panel and select Sound.
2.
Select the Playback tab.
3. Use the right mouse button to select dCS Lina Network DAC.
4. Select Set as Default Communication Device.
5. To get the best sound quality:
a. Select Properties.
b. Select the Advanced tab.
c.
Select 24 bit, 384000 Hz (Studio Quality).
d. In the Exclusive Mode options, select both options.
6. Close the Sound window.
Clocking
Clock jitter is variation in the digital audio clock frequency, which can cause a loss of fine
detail when listening to music. The unit can run in different clocking sync modes, which can
reduce jitter. To minimise jitter, connect the unit to the LINA Master Clock or a compatible
Master Clock.
