HS-600 Monitor 

The 

17.3“ display built into the HS-600 lid has controls which allow 

selection  of  source  inputs  for  Mixer  Program,  Mixer  Preview  or 
HDMI  input  as  well  as  PIP,  Aspect  Ratio,  Blue  only,  Pattern 
(Colour Bars), Menu and Audio.  
 
The 

monitor’s  On  Screen  Display  (OSD)  MENU,  arrow  buttons 

and ENTER button allow control and set up of brightness, contrast, 
saturation,  hue,  sharpness  and  colour  temperature.  Additional 
menus  can  also  be  used  to  display  Picture  in  Picture,  onscreen 
overlays for 80% or 90% Frame Marker, 4:3 Marker, 16:9 Marker, 
Cinema Zone Marker, and Centre Point. 

 

 

HDMI, PREVIEW, PROGRAM  

Select the type of input you wish to view - HDMI, PREVIEW or PROGRAM. The active selection will be indicated by 
a red LED on the chosen button. 
 
When you select

PROGRAM

’’, you select the mixed program output of the HS-600; this is a full screen display. 

When you select

PREVIEW

’’, you will see a multi-image preview from the mixer.  

When  you  select

HDMI

’’,  you  select  the  HDMI  source  input  on  Rear  Panel;  this  is  a  full  screen  display  like 

Program and could be the input from a recorder for confidence monitoring of the recording. 
 

BLUE 

Press this button to eliminate the red and green component of input signals. Only the blue component of an input is 
displayed on the screen. This allows adjustments of chroma and phase. (Phase adjustment is effective with NTSC 
signals). 
 

PATTERN 

Press this button to display the monitors built in SMPTE colour bars pattern. This feature can be used to calibrate 
or change the monitor settings when using the OSD menu options. 
 

PIP 

The monitor

’s own PIP or Picture in Picture feature allows you to display two sources at the same time. One source 

will  display  as  a  full  screen  with  the  secondary  source  on  a  smaller  PIP  window.  The  mixed  program  output  is 
CVBS2. The rear HDMI input (not mixed) is HDMI1.

 

The multi-image preview is HDMI 2.  

NOTE:

  The  OSD  Menu  PIP  options  for  SDI,  COMP,  SVIDEO  and  CVBS1  cannot  be  used  as  they  are  not 

connected to the HS-600 monitor. 
 

Menu Navigation Buttons 

The MENU, arrow up, arrow down and ENTER buttons are used to display and navigate the OSD set up menus.  
 
When not using the OSD menus the 

arrow down button

 also toggles the Safe Area Mask On or Off. This feature 

may need to be set up using the OSD menus first. 
 
When  not  using  the  OSD  menus  the 

arrow  up  button

  also  toggles  the  4:3  Mask  On  or  Off  when  in  16:9  mode. 

This feature may need to be set up using the OSD menus first. 

 
MUTE Button  

Mutes the audio from the internal speakers or headphone socket. 
 

Volume Control 

 

Adjusts the speaker / headphone volume up / down. 
 

Aspect Ratio Button 

Toggles the Aspect Ratio of the display between 16:9 and 4:3
