Controlpanel
Fig. 2
1)
Power LED
Indicates that AC power is connected and the RX-18BA is switched on.
2)
Signal LED
Indicates the presence of an audio signal at the
line in (13)
input.
3) Limit LED
Indicates that the analog soft clipping circuit is active. A soft clipping circuit clips short signal peaks in
a way that is not sounding unpleasant to your ears. Although a soft clipping circuit limits your
dynamic range, it allows you to operate on a higher average volume level.
If the limit led lights up continuously, we strongly suggest lowering the input level using the
line gain
(7)
control.
4) Protect
Indicates an electrical or thermal fault condition in the power amp.
5)
Master volume control
Controls the volume of the RX-18BA and the level of the
satellite out (9)
output.
6) Crossover control
Allows you to adjust the crossover frequency between 60 and 250Hz.
7) Line gain
Controls the level of the
line in (13)
input.
8)
Phase shift button
This button allows you to activate the volume dependent loudness circuit. The intensity of the
loudness circuits depends on the actual volume level, thus ensuring optimal sound quality at all
volume levels.
9)
Satellite out output
Line level electronically balanced Male XLR socket for connecting an active full range speaker
e.g. RX-10A, RX-12A, RX-15A etc. The frequency range depends on the settings of the
crossover (6)
control.
10) Ground lift button
When this button is pressed, it separates the signal ground from the chassis ground, enabling you to
eliminate potential ground loops or low-frequency hum.
