ACTION
Place a call to the 44023 from an outside
phone.
Hang up station phone.
Repeat steps 10 and 11, but do not answer
station phone.
If the 44023 is wired for group call, dial the
group call code from a station phone.
Hang up station station phone.
If a UHF or VHF radio is interfaced to the
44023, the fade delay feature should be
tested as follows:
Establish a call from outside phone, as in
steps 10 through 12.
Disconnect line from radio carrier detect
(CD) to pin 18 (CCI).
Wait approximately 60 seconds.
Test procedure complete.
RESULTS
INC CALL LED comes on.
Caller hears busy tone.
Seven seconds pass.
Caller disconnected.
INC CALL LED goes off.
After 10 to 80 seconds, the call is automa-
tically terminated.
OFF HOOK LED comes on.
Caller hears off-hook tone, dial tone and
ringback tones from other stations in
group call.
440 system normalized.
Parties converse
Call not interrupted.
Call automatically terminated.
OPERATION
T
he 44023 PABX/Trunk Interface Module operates when you
apply power. Operation of the unit consists of observing the
front panel LEDs:

The BUSY LED indicates the system is busy.
♦
The INC CALL LED indicates an incoming call. The LED
pulsates with the ringing signal.
♦
The OFF HOOK LED lights up when the subscriber phone is
off hook.
The front panel TEST/RST switch tests and aligns the 44023.
Clear the off-hook condition by pressing the TEST/RST switch.
The OFF HOOK LED goes dark.
