Instructions for installation and use

Akva Lux II TDP-F

10.0  Adjustment and commissioning of the Akva Lux II TDP-F variants

General information

PLEASE NOTE! Some models may have a slightly different appearance, but

the control function is in principle the same as described below.

Maintenance and commissioning

The insulation front panel on Akva Lux II TDP-F, Type 004U8264 can be

removed without using tools. Take hold in the right side of the front insu-

lation and pull carefully forward until the front insulation section releases

from the rear section.

Fasten the front insulation section with a slight pressure on the sides and

upper part.

Please note that the Akva Lux II TDP-F, Type 004U8264 is not mechanically fixed

in the rear insulation section and must be handled by lifting in both pipes and

insulation simultaneously.

The cover on Akva Lux II TDP-F, Type 004U8089 and 004U8044 and be

removed without using tools.

Perform maintenance procedures according to the maintenance fre-

quency chart presented in the section entitled “Operation and main-

tenance” on pages 30 - 31. Perform adjustment in accordance with the

instructions below.

For cleaning of plate heat exchanger, please see page 30.

Commissioning

Commission the substation in accordance with the instructions on pages

10-13.

Domestic hot water

The domestic hot water is prepared in the heat exchanger based on the

flow principle and the temperature is controlled by a combined hydrau-

lic and thermostatic self-acting controller

PTC2+P

(Fig. 1a) with inte-

grated differential pressure controller, which blocks the flow of primary

and secondary side flow through the heat exchanger immediately after

completion of the tapping process.

Option: Alternatively the temperature is controlled by a hydraulic self-acting

controller PM2+P (Fig. 1b).

Regulation of the hot water temperature PTC2+P

Set the DHW temperature by moving the adjuster lever towards “+” (hotter)

or “-” (colder). Start by turning the lever

clockwise

 – until it stops/until you

cannot turn it any further. Then turn the lever

counter-clockwise

 until

the temperature of the tap water is approx. 48°C during normal tapping

flow (7–8 litres per min.).

Regulation of the hot water temperature PM2+P

Set  the DHW temperature by turning the adjuster lever towards red (hot-

ter) or blue (colder). Start by turning the lever clockwise - until the pin is

opposite the blue dot. Then turn the lever counter-clockwise until the

temperature of the tap water is approx. 48°C during normal tapping flow

(7–8 litres per min.).

NB! The pin must be positioned between the blue

and red dot, otherwise the controller will shut down.
The temperature must never exceed 55°C to prevent limescale deposits

building up in the water heater.

By-pass function (factory connection).

The Akva Lux II TDP-F substations are supplied with the a Danfoss FJVR

bypass thermostat (Fig. 2), so that when water is tapped, the water heater

immediately starts to produce hot water. We re-commend setting of the

thermostat in pos. 3. If you have to wait a long time (i.e. more than 20 sec.)

for hot water, it may be necessary to position the thermostat higher than

pos. 3. If you want to avoid waiting time altogether, you will need to set

up domestic hot water recirculation to the tapping points.

Circulation thermostat / conversion to recirculation.

In systems with recirculation, the thermostat (Fig. 2) functions as a circu-

lation thermostat, and the temperature of the circulation water can be

set independently of the domestic hot water temperature selected. We

recommend setting of the thermostat to pos. 3. For instructions about

how to set up a recirculation connection, see pages  14-25.
