TROUBLESHOOTING

10

PROBLEM

POSSIBLE CAUSE

SOLUTION

1) Surface elements or oven will
not operate

• Make sure power cord is tightly

plugged into grounded outlet.

• Possible blown fuse or tripped

circuit breaker.

• Servicing wiring is not complete.

• Power outage.

• Check power cord; plug in properly.

• Replace the fuse or reset the circuit.

• Contact your dealer, installing agent

or authorized service provider.

• Check house lights to be sure; call

your local electricity company.

2) Surface elements do not heat
properly.

• Lightweight or warped pans used.

• No power to the appliance.

• Incorrect control setting.

• The surface units are not plugged in

solidly.

• Use only flat, evenly balanced,

medium or heavyweight cookware.

Cooking materials and weight of the

material affect heating.

• Check solutions from problem #1

• Make sure the correct control is on

for the surface unit to be used.

• With controls off, check that the

surface unit is plugged completely

into the receptacle.

3) Drip bowls are pitting or
rusting.

• Foods with acids (ex. tomatoes), if

allowed to stand in/on bowls will

cause corrosion.

• Environment.

• Remove and wash drip bowls as

soon as possible after a spillover.

• Houses along seacoast are exposed

to salt air; protect bowls as much as

possible from direct exposure to salt

air.

4) Drip bowls are turning color or
distorting.

• Bottom surface of cookware

extends beyond surface elements and

touches cook-top surface.

• This can cause high enough

temperatures to discolor drip bowls;

pan size should match the size of

element being used.

5) Poor baking results.

• Many factors affect baking results.

• Make sure the proper rack position

is used. Center food in the oven and

space pans to allow air to circulate.

Allow the oven to preheat to the set

temperature before placing food in

the oven. Try adjusting the recipes

recommended temp. or baking time.

6) Oven makes clicking noise.

• This is the sound of the heating

element turning off and on during

cooking functions.

• This sound is normal.

7) Oven door is crooked.

• The door is not positioned correctly.

• Because the oven door is

removable, it can become incorrectly

positioned during installation. To

straighten the door, see “Care and

Cleaning” section in this Guide.

8) Oven light does not work.

• Replace or tighten bulb.

• Switch operating light is broken.

• See “Care and Cleaning” in this

Guide.
