Footswitch  

The footswitch hardware upgrade to allows the user to use a physical footswitch to save 
or send readings and certain assigned values (Thickness, Differential, Min/Max, Max-
Min, Average or Strip Chart) via the USB cable or Bluetooth (if applicable).  
 
To use the footswitch, follow these steps: 

1.

 

Plug the footswitch cable into the connector on the top left of the MTG-99 

2.

 

The 

Send

 and 

Save

 keys will now activate whenever the footswitch is pressed   

When the footswitch is pressed it will perform the action defined for the F1 key.   
Can also change send via USB/RS232/Bluetooth depending on which optional 
features are in your gage (RS232 and Bluetooth are not standard and can not co-
exist).   

3.

 

Enable the Send/Save in the 

Datalogger/Comm menu

 and assign it to the feature 

you would like the footswitch to use
