Binning is the com bining of tw o im age sensor p ixels to form  a new  com bined  p ixel. A binned  im age
u sing the sam e exp osu re settings as a non -binned  im age w ill show  an im p roved  signal-to-noise ratio,
red u ced  scanning tim es (d u e to low er sp atial resolu tion) and  save as a sm aller im age file size com p ared
w ith a non-binned  im age, at the exp ense of low er im age resolu tion.

For this cam era, the d efau lt horizontal binning valu e is 1.
