Power Supply
The device can be operated with Power over Ethernet (PoE) and is compatible with all Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) that is compliant with the
IEEE 802.3af PoE standard. Alternatively, the device can also be powered by an external 24 V DC power supply unit.
WARNING
Electrical shock caused by exposed electrical parts and due to the lack of or improper grounding/earthing
Risk of death or serious injury
➡
The installation of the device and the connection of peripheral equipment may only be carried out by qualified personnel and in a
voltage-free state.
➡
Before connecting or disconnecting an external DC power supply unit, make sure that the power supply unit is disconnected from the
mains socket (pull the power plug out of the socket).
➡
Carry out all protective measures for a standard-compliant grounding/earthing of the device in accordance with the currently
applicable DIN, VDE and ISO standards in order to ensure the safety of persons (protection against dangerous contact voltages).
NOTICE
Damage to the device due to improper power supply
Damage to electronic components or serious malfunctions
➡
Always ensure the correct polarity when connecting an external DC power supply unit.
➡
Do not operate the device with Power over Ethernet (PoE) if the device is powered by an external DC power supply unit.
Damage to the device or malfunctions due to the lack of or improper grounding/earthing
Damage to electronic components caused by lightning strikes and over-voltages (electrical surges) or malfunctions due to electromagnetic
interferences
➡
Carry out all protective measures for a standard-compliant grounding/earthing and a correct equipotential bonding of the device in
accordance with the currently applicable DIN, VDE and ISO standards in order to ensure the safety of the device (protection against
over-voltages) and its immunity to electromagnetic interferences (EMI).
