Image Functions
The Image Functions area allows you to make settings concerning the image quality.
8.4.1
Progressive Scan
z
Progressive Scan = Off
Two fields with differing time index are successively
captured and transmitted (interlaced scanning).
Due to the different points in time of capturing within one
frame the “interlace effect” may occur with moving objects.
Compared to progressive capture rapid movements are displayed more smoothly and in
a less jerky manner by twice as much motion phases per second.
z
Progressive Scan = On
The frame is captured at one point in time.
Via PsF method (Progressive segmented Frame) the captured frame is segmented
in two fields with the same time index, which then are transmitted one after another.
Compared to interlaced scanning, every reassembled frame has only one motion phase.
The “interlace effect” is thus prevented, whereas rapid movements are displayed in a
more jerky manner.
NOTE
To record camera images with maximum resolution the
Dallmeier recorder should be operated in full picture mode and
the camera should be set to Progressive Scan = On.
8.4.2
Backlight
The Backlight function compensates for the silhouetting effect
of backlit objects (e.g. in front of windows, glass doors or other
sources of light).
The camera analyzes the light conditions within the field of
view and adjusts the exposure parameters accordingly.
