3) Clean the filter mounting base, and coat
the seal of the new oil filter with clean
engine oil.
Oil filter
Used only a genuine HONDA oil filter or a
filter of equivalent quality specified for your
model. Using the wrong filter, or a non-HONDA filter which is not of equivalent
quality, may cause engine damage.
4) Screw on the new oil filter by hand until the seal contacts the filter mounting
base, then use an oil filter socket tool to tighten the filter an additional 7/8 turn.

5) Refill the crankcase with the specified amount of the recommended oil.
Reinstall the oil filter cap and dipstick.
6) Start the engine, and check for leaks.
7) Stop the engine, and check the oil level.
If necessary, and oil to bring the oil level to the upper limit mark on the dipstick.
Used motor oil may cause skin cancer if repeatedly left in contact with the skin for
prolonged periods. Although this is unlikely unless you handle used oil on a daily
basis, it is still advisable to thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water as
soon as possible after handling used oil.
Please dispose of used motor oil in a manner that is compatible with the environment. We
suggest you take it in a sealed container to your local service station or recycling center for
reclamation. Do not throw it in the trash or pour it on the ground.
