6 WLAN Quality Indicator
The quality of the wireless connection can be observed with the WLAN Quality Indicator.
NOTE:
As long as the VCI is connected via USB the display is switched off.
7 More than one DAVIE XDc II in the workshop?
If more than one VCI is used in the same workshop, it is necessary to give the tools different ID's.
Settings must be made with a program called VCI Configuration Manager.
The standard VCI-ID is set to VCI-01.
1. Close the DAVIE diagnostic application
2. Connect the USB cable between the VCI and the DAVIE XDc II
3. Connect the VCI with the Vehicle Diagnostic Cable to the vehicle.
4. Open the configuration manager by the shortcut in the Windows Start menu or double-click the VCI Tray Icon in the System Tray (See also
chapter "VCI Configuration Manager")
5. The unique network name (SSID) is displayed in the "Status Info" sheet
6. Go to the "Basis Setup" sheet.
7. Change the "Network Name (SSID) to a desired unique name which is not used nearby. For Example: VCI-02. Only use alpha numeric
symbols. For example 1, 2, ect. and a, b, c, ect. Do not use: ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ).
8. Press "OK" to apply the setting. The settings will be changed in the VCI and DAVIE XDc II
9. VCI Configuration Manager is terminated automatically.
10. Disconnect the VCI from the USB-cable. Wait up to a minute until Windows notifies that the computer is connected to wireless network "VCI
LAN Connection".
11. The VCI Tray Icon colour changes from white to green.
12. Start the DAVIE diagnostic application.
