Visually check for fluid leaks or damage
and, using a spanner, check joints and
clamps for clearance.
Also, check hose and pipe protective parts
to see if they contact other parts when
turning the handle bars or due to vibration
when driving.
Operate the brake lever to check the wear
of the brake pad.
While looking at the brake caliper, if the
wear limit line is not visible, the pads need
to be replaced.

Caution
●
When adding brake fluid, be very
careful not to allow foreign
materials to enter the reserve tank.
Foreign materials can clog the
system, causing a reduction or
complete loss of braking ability.
●
Do not fill past upper level.
This can cause brake fluid to leak
out of the reserve tank.
●
Do not let brake fluid contact
vehicle parts as this damages
painted areas. If oil contacts parts,
quickly clean the fluid off using a
dry cloth.
●
Use recommended brake fluid as
other types can undergo chemical
changes.
●
If brake fluid is exceedingly low,
this can be indication of damage to
the brake system.
●
A leak in the brake system can lead
to reduced braking efficiency and
possible loss of braking ability.
