Login Web-based Management
In order to login and configure the switch via an Ethernet connection, the PC must have an IP address in the
same subnet as the switch. For example, if the switch has an IP address of
10.90.90.90
, the PC should have
an IP address of
10.x.y.z
(where x/y is a number between 0 ~ 254 and z is a number between 1 ~ 254), and
a subnet mask of
255.0.0.0
. Enter 10.90.90.90 (the factory default IP address) in the address bar of your
web browser and press <Enter>.

10.90.90.90 with a subnet mask of 255.0.0.0 and
a default gateway of 0.0.0.0.

Connecting the Console Port
The console port on the front panel of the Switch is used to connect a computer that monitors and configures
the switch. The console port is an RJ-45 port and requires a special cable that is included with the switch, to
establish the physical connection.
To connect a terminal to the console port
The console interface is used by connecting the Switch to a VT100-compatible terminal or a computer
running an ordinary terminal emulator program (for example, the HyperTerminal program included with the
Windows operating system) using an RJ-45 serial cable. Your terminal parameters will need to be set to:
•
VT-100 compatible
•
Baud rate 9600bps
•
8 data bits
•
No parity
•
One stop bit
•
No flow control
The same functions may also be accessed over a Telnet interface. Once an IP address for the Switch has
been set, A Telnet program can be used (in VT-100 compatible terminal mode) to access and control the
Switch. All of the screens are identical, whether accessed from the console port or from a Telnet interface.
After the Switch reboots and you have to logged in, the console looks like this:
