Gantry Components
Lubricate the Gantry and Z-Stage
Lubricate the gantry and Z-Stage every 3 months using a urea based synthetic grease such as
THK AFF grease.
This procedure can be performed with access to the front of the machine in production line.
This section shows the procedure performed when the machine is not in production line.

To lubricate the gantry
1. Turn off all electrical power to the system. For more information, refer to the section
“ Shutting Down the System ” on page 52.
2. Open the top cover of the safety enclosure.
3. Locate the grease fittings attached to the red blocks on each stage as shown in Figure 92.
Each stage (X and Y) has four grease fittings: two on the front, and two on the rear.

4. Using a grease gun with a tapered nozzle fitting, pump grease into each fitting until grease
is visible around the fittings.
5. Slide the stage back and forth manually.
6. Wipe off grease overflow.
Warning:
Make sure the system power is turned off before working inside the hood. Gantry
motion can pinch or sever objects in its path.
Grease fitting
