3.5.3 Installing a Floppy Disk Drive 

1. Remove the keytop as instructed in Section 3.1.2. 

2. Remove the two Phillips screws holding the Hard Disk Drive in place.  

3. Raise the Hard Disk Drive frame and insert the Floppy Disk Drive in place. 

4. Line up the two tabs on each frame lowering the Hard Drive frame over the 

Floppy Drive bracket. 

5. Find the Floppy Drive Connector at JN8 and be sure the outer casing is 

raised. 

6. Insert the flex Floppy Drive Cable and lower the outer casing to snap the 

Ribbon into place. 

7. Replace the two Phillips screws in the Hard Drive frame. 

8. Install the Phillips screw in the Floppy Drive brackets to mount the brackets 

to the base unit.
