FUEL LEVEL SENDER TEST
(See Figure 10J-3)

1. With the sender removed from the tank, connect

one multimeter lead to the center terminal and the
other to flat mounting plate.

2. Multimeter range settings may have to be

changed during this test to read the high and low
ohms. Set multimeter to the appropriate range.

3. With the float in:

Lowest Position (tank empty) ............ 0.205 ohms
Highest Position (tank full).................. 0.027 ohms

•

If fuel level sender tests do not fall within the
above limits, replace.

•

If fuel level sender tests fall within limits, check
wiring and/or gauge (see Section 10N).
