Chapter 6: Service and Maintenance

Replacing the motor and fan wheel
Before You Begin
• Disconnect all power sources to the heater.
• Turn off the gas supply.
To remove the motor and fan wheel:
1. Remove the four screws (3) holding the control box mounting bracket (1) to the fan housing (5).
2. Loosen the four screws (2) holding the control box mounting bracket (1) to the fan housing (5).
3. Slide the control box mounting bracket (1) off of the screws (3) on the fan housing (5).
4. Disconnect the wires from the control box that connect to the motor.
5. Remove the ten screws (3) attaching the motor mounting bracket (4) to the fan housing (5).
6. Remove the motor and blower wheel assembly (4) from the heater enclosure.
To reinstall the motor and fan wheel:
7. Install the motor and blower wheel assembly (4) onto the fan housing (5), aligning the two upper
holes of the motor mounting plate with the two tabs of the fan housing (5).
8. Install the ten screws through the motor mounting bracket (4) to the fan housing (5).
9. Connect the motor wires from the control box.
