Chapter 3: Installation

Installing the Tubular Motor

1. Before sliding the tubular motor (89) into drive pipe (50), measure the distance from the end of the

motor (89) to the end of the motor tube. This distance is labeled as “R” in detail B on

Figure 3-39,

page 47

.

2. Slide the tubular motor (89) into the slotted end of the drive pipe (50) until the raised key (87) of the

motor head seats into the notch in the drive pipe (50).

3. As shown in detail B on

Figure 3-39, page 47

, drill several 3/16" (4.8 mm) holes around the

circumference of pipe at distance “R” (as measured in step

1

). Install stainless steel pop rivets (101)

into the holes to secure the motor tube to the drive pipe (50).

NOTE:

At this stage of the installation, the drive pipe (50) may be installed onto the guide brackets.

NOTE:

Dimensions of slot is in millimeters. To convert to inches, multiply mm by 0.0394.

CAUTION

Do not drill into motor when installing the pop rivets.
