7.4/2 Instructions for carrying out gas recovery
The aim of this operation is to recover and recycle all gas present in the A/C plant and separate it
from oil and other impurities present. The maximum time required for this operation is 15 minutes
(900 sec.)
The operator should:
-
Connect up the high and low pressure tubes (see section “Setting up the unit”)
-
Open the two high and low pressure valves HP-LP.
-
Use the SEL key to select RECOVERY, indicated by the side led light.
-
The display will visualise the word AUTO, by pressing the key
OK,
the unit will automatically
recover the entire refrigerant in the circuit. It is possible to pre-set the quantity of refrigerant to
be recovered by using the
“+”
and
“-“
keys. More specifically, the
“+”
increases the weight
(expressed in grams) of the quantity of gas to be recovered, while the “
–“
key decreases
it.
-
Press the OK key to confirm the operation.
During this operation, it is possible to monitor the partial weight of gas recovered on the display.
The recovery phase will be interrupted briefly when the depression value of –0.10 bar is reached.
(a pressure sensor automatically identifies this value).
This interval lasts approximately 200 seconds, and allows eventual refrigerant still blocked in the
system in the form of micro-frozen granules of oil and humidity to be transformed into gas and to
be recovered. This phase is indicated by an increase in the high and low-pressure values on the
respective pressure gauges
HP
and
LP
.
- At the end of the 200 seconds, the machine will automatically discharge the oil recovered for 60
seconds in the container for this purpose. The quantity of oil discharged is indicated by a
graduated doser OIL DISCHARGE.
- Once the oil discharge phase is terminated, the total quantity of refrigerant recovered is visualised
and followed by an acoustic signal indicating the end of the operation. In the event that pressure
has built up during the 200 second interval and the 60 second oil discharge phase, a second
recovery cycle will be activated until a depression value of –0.10 bar has been reached inside the
A/C circuit, followed by the acoustic signal.
It’s important to check that the OIL DISCHARGE valve is only partially open (to approx. 45°
degrees)
, to avoid excess pressure building up at the discharge point causing oil to be ejected
from the vent tube.
During this phase in addition:
-
The correct level of oil in the recovery compressor is reset through automatic toping up.
If this phase is not completed within the maximum set time of 15 minutes, an error code will be
visualised on the display
Total time expired “02”
indicating that there is a fault (in this case repeat
the recovery operation). When the operation has been carried out correctly, the total quantity of
refrigerant will be visualised on the display.
During all the operating phases, with the exception of the discharge of recovered oil lasting 60
seconds, it is possible to interrupt the procedure by pressing the OK key.
