Dual/Mono Switches
The Dual/Mono switches are located on the back panel
below the level controls.
Mono mode combines the
two selected amplifier output channels into a single
balanced mono channel with twice the voltage of a
single channel. This means the output will be more
powerful (and typically, much louder) than with a single
channel output. These results are achieved by bridg-
ing the outputs, so it requires special output wiring.
Do NOT use the black (negative) outputs when
Mono mode is selected.
Connecting anything to the
negative terminals may result in polarity problems.
When Mono mode is selected, only the odd numbered
channel’s level control will work. (See Section 3.3.1
for more information on mono operation.)
Level Controls
Located on the back panel above the output connec-
tors, these controls allow for adjustment of each
channel’s level (volume). These can be used for sys-
tem balancing and gain optimization. To decrease the
level, turn the control counter-clockwise. To increase
the level, turn the control clockwise.
Balanced Barrier Block Inputs
The inputs are standard, balanced, barrier block inputs.
Each input includes positive (+) and negative (–) signal
terminals and a chassis ground terminal. The ground
connection can be used to terminate the cable’s shield.
(See Section 3.3.2 for more information on input wiring.)
On any channels that are being run in Mono mode,
the connection should only be made to the odd-num-
bered input.
Output Binding Posts
The output connections can accomodate banana
plugs, double banana plugs, or wire as large as 10
gauge (2.59 mm).
Remember, in Mono mode you will only be using the
red posts on those two channels. The odd numbered
channel’s red post will be positive, the even numbered
channel’s red post will be negative.
You should not
use the black posts in Mono mode.
