When using this outdoor post, basic safety
precautions should always be followed to
reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and
personal injury.
•
The post is fitted with a Ground Fault Circuit
Interrupter (GFCI) outlet. The GFCI outlet
is to be used for wet location installation,
providing protection for the circuits and
outlets. This GFCI outlet is built-in to provide
safe operation of this fixture.
•
The GFCI outlet is only to be used with an
extension cord rated for outdoor use, such
as extension cord type: SW, SW-A, SOW,
SOW-A, STW, STW-A, STOW, STOW-A, SJW,
SJW-A, SJOW, SJOW-A, SJTW, SJTW-A or
SJTOW, SJTOW-A
CAUTION: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
Do not use with an extension cord near water or
where water may accumulate. Keep post at least
16 feet from pool and spas. Keep plugs and
receptacles dry.

3. Tools Needed
Assembly:
Estimated assembly time is 45 minutes.
Wire Power to Fixture Location
a.
Be sure to consult local electrical codes before beginning electrical work.
b.
Using conduit that supports local codes, wire power through conduit from
power source to fixture site.
c.
Extend at least 30 inches of spare wire at the end of the conduit at the post
location to allow for wiring of the post fixture(s).
4. Wiring
Select an Installation Location
Consider the following points when selecting an installation location:
•
Do not locate post within 16 feet of the inside wall of a swimming pool.
•
Avoid locating post too close to driveways to prevent damage from
automobiles.
•
Photocell on post is not suitable for use with fixtures that use fluorescent
bulbs or wattage greater than 300w. Photocell fixtures will automatically
turn on at sunset and turn off at sunrise.
•
Select fixture with maximum of 300 watts (fixture not included).
