Sharpening of scraper blade
For best results with the power scraper, the scraper blade must be sharp and
correctly honed. The scraper blade can be sharpened. The best result is achieved
by water grinding against a grindstone, with the scraper blade held firmly in a fixture.
A bench grinder or band screed can also be used but this is much more difficult
and yields a poorer result. Try to keep the same cutting angle as in factory
grinding if you grind by hand.
Maintenance
Pull out the plug before cleaning.
Clean the blade holder and the housing regularly to remove dust, any remaining
bits of paint, oil etc.. Use only a washcloth slightly moistened with a mild washing-
up liquid. Never use strong cleansers or solvents.
