Kindly implement TigoBridge SOM STEP file provided into your mechanical design, please
mind:
1.
Location of the BTB connectors
2.
Height constrains between TigoBridge SOM board to the host board
3.
Location of the UFL connector for connecting the antenna and the height required for
physically connecting the UFL connector to the board
2.2 Antenna connection
After choosing the location of the SMA connector on the enclosure panel, one should design the
RF cable accordingly. Provided please find an example for UFL to SMA connection and an
example for a whip antenna.
Please take into consideration in your RF cable selection or design:
The UFL connector should be connected manually and maintain a steady connection
The RF cable UFL connectors adds height to the total PCB height
The RF cable length should not be short so physical pressure will imply on the UFL
connection
The RF cable should not be too long because unnecessary length adds to the cable
attenuation and degrade overall performance of the system
The selection of the RF cable should match the frequency band in use and the impedance
requirement:
o
Frequency band: 2.4-2.48 [GHz]
o
Impedance: 50Ω
