Ride height adjustm ent.
The ride height should be kept to a m inim um , this w ill keep the centre of gravity of the car as low as
possible and so m axim ise cornering speeds. The ride height should ideally be betw een 3 5 m m
(1/8"-3/16"), but on bum py tracks or w here regulations dictate otherw ise run the car a little higher.
Check regularly to com pensate for tire w ear w hich can be rapid on som e tracks.
Adjusting the front ride height.
Each front steering block is supported by alum inium w ashers. Placing these under the steering block
low ers the chassis (less ride height) and conversely putting them above raises the chassis, giving
m ore ride height.
Adjusting the rear ride height.
Three different pairs of rear axle bearing holders have been included in the kit, they are all off-set
to give 6 different rear axle height settings. Rem ove the rear axle and fit the appropriate pair of
bearing holders to each end of the rear axle tube, com plete w ith ball bearings and put the rear axle
back into place. Do not forget to re-m esh your pinion and spur gear. Alw ays use the sam e height
setting on both sides of the car otherw ise the rear axle bearings w ill lock up.
Front dam per servicing.
Your Corally car features an o-ring dam ping system inside the front springs. This system provides a
superbly sm ooth dam ping action. To service these dam pers rem ove the front springs and clean the
dam per posts and o-ring collars. Then add new dam per syrup around the dam per posts and the o-ring
inside the collars.
Rear tube dam per servicing and adjustm ent.
The rear tube dam pers are a very im portant part of the car. These dam pers control the rear
suspension m ovem ent.
Periodically check that the m ovem ent of these dam pers is even and sm ooth in all directions. To
change the dam per action (stiffness) the dam per syrup has to be replaced by another type. Corally
offers 3 different grades as follow ing:
#80000
Dam per Syrup, Soft
#80001
Dam per Syrup, Hard
#80002
Dam per Syrup, X-Hard
Rear dam per setup.
The rear dam per setup controls the speed at w hich the rear suspension m oves over bum ps and
through turns.
- If the car is poor over bum ps then increasing the rear dam pening effect m ay help.
- Increasing the rear dam pening effect w ill also increase steering a little, rem em ber this w hen
m aking this adjustm ent for other reasons.
- If the inside front w heel goes light or even lifts during cornering then the dam per is to thin.
- If the car is reluctant to change direction quickly enough in chicanes then reducing the rear
dam per effect m ay help.
General rule - if the car understeers w hilst exiting corners then the rear dam per is set too thin. If
the car oversteers exiting corners then the dam per is too thick.
