Insert 2 AAA batteries, keeping in mind the correct polarity. Close the cover of the battery compartment again.
If you use more than one external sensor (at most 3 sensors can be used; additional sensors can be purchased
separately), insert the batteries.
Channel 1 is the basic setting. Pressing the “CH” button switches to the next channel. The LED flashes once
every 2 seconds.
Pressing the “Reset” button resets the sensor.
Make sure that each sensor transmits on a different channel.

The main unit and the external sensor can also be operated with rechargeable batteries. However, due to the low
voltage (rechargeable battery = 1.2 V, battery = 1.5 V) the range and the operation time are reduced. In addition, due
to the low voltage problems can arise with the reception of the DCF time signal.
Should problems arise when using rechargeable batteries (e.g., low range, short operation time, bad DCF reception,
etc.), remove the rechargeable batteries and use non-rechargeable batteries. We recommend high-quality ‘alkali’
batteries, since they have a longer service life than traditional zinc-carbon batteries.
C) Low battery level
If the battery level symbol of the main unit (9) or external sensor (3) is displayed, it is necessary to replace the rechargeable or
non-rechargeable batteries in the respective unit.
Remove the spent batteries.
Insert the new batteries. Proceed as described above.
9. Operation
When you position the main unit and the external sensor, keep in mind the maximum transmission distance of 75
meters. Please note that the transmission range can be reduced by disturbances such as buildings, obstacles or a
window pane between the sensor and the receiver unit. Choose a suitable place for the sensor in a location protected
from direct weather influences.
A) Registration of the external sensor
Install the sensor in a location protected from direct weather influences.
Press the “Channel” button (G) to switch through channels 1 through 3. The channel number appears in the display (1).
After resetting in “Channel,” the display symbol (2) flashes. The auto-scroll function is activated: All 3 channels are displayed
alternating in 6-second intervals. Pressing the “Channel” button (G) again turns this function off.
B) DCF reception
The radio clock integrated in the base station can receive and evaluate the so-called DCF signal.
This is a signal which is sent by a transmitter in Mainflingen (near Frankfurt am Main, Germany).
Its range is up to 1500 km, under ideal conditions even up to 2000 km. The DCF signal includes the exact time (deviation
theoretically 1 second every 1 million years!) and the date. Clocks with a DCF receiver can receive and evaluate the signal.
Manual setting of a radio clock is thus unnecessary, even when changing from daylight saving time or winter time. Change the
installation location of the base unit if it has not received any DCF time after 10-30 minutes.
The main unit cannot be programmed as long as the transmitter has not been recognised.
To initiate the transmission process, proceed as follows:
First, eliminate all sources of interference or install the base station in a suitable place (not next to a television set or other
electrical/electronic devices, not next to metal parts, etc.).
Press the “ “ button (E) for ca. 2 seconds to initiate DCF reception.
A form of the DCF reception symbol (10) flashes; the base station is attempting to receive the DCF signal. Do not move the
base station during this time. The reception attempt may last ca. 10 minutes. During this time manual setting is not possible.
