Operation
a) First use
When using the kettle for the first time, it is recommended that you should clean your kettle
by boiling the Max capacity (1.7 l) of water once and then discarding the boiled water. Wipe
the surface with a damp cloth.
b) Using the kettle
1.
Place the kettle on a flat surface.
2.
To fill the kettle, remove it from the power base and open the lid by pressing the lid release
button. Then fill the kettle with the desired amount of water and close the lid. The water
level must be within the Min and Max level. Too little water will cause the kettle to switch off
before the water has boiled.
Do not fill the water over the maximum level, as water may spill out of the spout when
boiling. Ensure that the lid is firmly in place before plugging the kettle into the power outlet.
3. Position the kettle on the power base.
4. Press the TEMP Button repeatedly to set the desired temperature (40 °C, 50 °C, 60 °C,
70 °C, 80 °C, 90 °C or 100 °C). When the setting reaches 100 °C, press the TEMP button
to go back to 40 °C.
The default temperature is 100 °C.
•
Press the ON/OFF button to switch on the appliance. The display will flash and shows
100 °C as the default preset temperature. If no temperature is selected within 5 seconds,
the appliance will start boiling at the default temperature.
•
Press the TEMP button to select the required temperature. The display will flash while you
are selecting the temperature. When you have selected the required temperature, wait
5 seconds until the appliance starts boiling. The display will show the water’s real-time
temperature.
• If no selection is made within 5 seconds, the unit will start heating to the default temperature
of 100 °C.
•
Ensure that switch is free of obstructions and the lid is firmly closed. The kettle will not turn
off if the switch is obstructed or if the lid is opened.
• Press the ON/OFF button to interrupt the boiling cycle at any time. The appliance will switch
to standby mode.
• The boiling cycle will stop if the kettle is removed from the base unit while the appliance
is switched on. The appliance features a memory function. To retain the chosen settings,
return the kettle to its base within 30 seconds of it being lifted.
• Once the water has reached the set temperature, the appliance will stop heating, beep 3
times, and switch to standby mode.
5. Lift the kettle from the power base and then pour the water.
Exercise caution when pouring the water from your kettle, as boiling water may result in
scalding. Do not open the lid while the water in the kettle is hot.
6. Always disconnect the power supply when the kettle is not in use.
c) Boil-dry protection
Should you accidentally switch on the kettle without water, the boil-dry protection function will
automatically switch off the power. If this occurs, allow the kettle to cool before filling with cold
water.
Care and cleaning
a) Cleaning
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions.
They damage the housing and can cause the product to malfunction.
Never immerse the kettle, power cord or power base in water, or allow moisture to
come into contact with these parts.
1. Disconnect the product from the mains.
2. Let the product cool down completely.
3. Wipe the housing with a damp cloth.
4.
Clean the filter at regular intervals. For easier cleaning, detach the filter by pressing down
the tab filter inside the kettle, and then replace it after cleaning.
5. When not in use, stow the power cord at the underside of the stand.
b) Descaling
Your kettle should be periodically descaled, as the mineral deposits in tap water may form
scale on the bottom of the kettle and affect the boiling efficiency. Use a commercially available
descaler and follow the instructions on the packaging. Alternatively, follow the instructions
below to descale the kettle with white vinegar:
1. Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar, and then add water until the bottom of the kettle
is covered completely. Leave the solution in the kettle overnight.
2.
Discard the mixture in the kettle, and then fill the kettle with clean water to the maximum
position. Boil and then discard the water. Repeat several times until the vinegar odour has
been flushed away. Any stains remaining inside the spout can be removed by rubbing with
a damp cloth.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in household
