Unpacking
Check all the parts for completeness and damage after unpacking.
Damaged parts must not be used for safety reasons. In case of any damage
contact our customer service.
Setting up the device
• Please install the device using the metal stand in such a way that you can easily operate and
read it.
• Avoid direct sunlight over a longer period since this could damage the screen.
Getting started
• Switch on the device with the power switch.
• The device shows a start screen and is ready for operation after a short initialisation phase.
• Connect the corresponding measuring lead/probe to the measurement input connector
“CH A” or “CH B”.
The measuring signal should only be applied to the internal conductor. The
external conductor (reference earth) is connected to the earth potential (pro-
tective earth conductor).
• Touch the object to be measured with the measuring lead.
• To automatically set the signal, push the button “Autoset”. With this function, all parameters
are automatically adjusted optimally for the signal presentation.
• Remove the measuring cable from the object being measured after finishing the measure-
ment and turn off the appliance.
Cleaning
Always observe the following safety instructions before cleaning the device:
Live components may be exposed if the covers are opened or parts are re-
moved, unless this can be done without tools.
Prior to cleaning or repairing of the device, all cables have to be detached and
the device has to be turned off.
• Do not use scouring, chemical or aggressive cleaning agents such as benzene, alcohol or
similar chemicals. These might attack the surface of the device. Furthermore, the fumes are
explosive and hazardous to your health. Moreover, you should not use sharp-edged tools,
screwdrivers or metal brushes or the like for cleaning
• Do not press too hard on the display; this can lead not only to scratches but also to the
destruction of the display. The warranty will be void!
• For cleaning the device or the display and the measuring cables, use a clean, slightly damp,
lint-free, antistatic cloth.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable material and do not belong in the household
waste.
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current
statutory requirements.

- the device does not function anymore and
- the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time or
- it has been subjected to considerable stress during transportation.
• Never switch the device on immediately after having taken it from a cold into a
warm environment. The condensation that forms might destroy your device. Allow
the device to reach room temperature before switching it on.
• Never disassemble the product! There is risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Do not leave the packaging materials unattended. They may become dangerous
playthings for children.
• The device is only suited to dry indoor locations (not for use in bathrooms or
similar damp interiors). The device must not get wet or damp. There is risk of a
life-threatening electric shock!
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer’s
Liability Insurance Associations for Electrical Systems and Operating Materials
are to be observed.

must be supervised by trained personnel in a responsible manner.
• Consult suitably qualified staff, if you have doubts about how the equipment oper-
ates or about how to connect it safely.
• Handle the product with care. The product can be damaged if crushed, struck or
dropped, even from a low height.
• Regularly check the technical safety of the device and the measuring cables,
e.g., for damage to the casing, etc. The device may in no case be opened or
used, if the covers have been removed.
!RISK OF FATAL INJURY!
• Do not exceed the maximum permitted input values under any circumstanc-
es. Never touch circuits or parts of circuits when they may contain voltages
greater than >30 V/ACrms or >30 V/DC! Risk of fatal injury!
• If in doubt about how to connect the device correctly, or should any questions arise
that are not answered in these operating instructions, please contact our technical
service or another specialist.
