Clearing CMOS

Model: 4240 ES

If the power-on

password is not known,

clearing CMOS will

disable the power-on

password. To clear

CMOS, complete the

following steps:

Complete the

preparation for
disassembly
procedure

Remove the hood.

Remove the jumper

from pins 01-02 and

place on pins 02-03,

then replace on pins

01-02.

Replace the hood and

perform the desired

troubleshooting.

NOTE:

The jumper pins

are labeled CLEAR

on the system

board.
