Cabling Guidelines

Storage Device Installation Guidelines

This chapter provides an overview of the cabling that resides in the system
chassis. It also includes information on how to cable SCSI, IDE, and
removable media devices in the system, as well as information about all
critical system cabling.

Consider the following guidelines when adding SCSI devices:

■

As a general rule, a maximum of seven devices may be added per
channel. Your server is equipped with one Wide-Ultra2 SCSI channel.

■

Be sure to remove all terminating jumpers from third-party
SCSI devices.
