Introduction to Wireless Networking
An Access Point (AP) is a device used to extend the existing Ethernet network (structured cabling) to mobile clients
(i.e., laptops, PDAs) enabling mobility, productivity, collaboration and flexibility. Mobile clients can connect to a single
Access Point, or move between multiple Access Points located within the same vicinity, maintaining network
connectivity.
To determine the best location for an Access Point, SYSTIMAX recommends following the SYSTIMAX Certified
Installation Guidelines. For information, contact your local reseller or visit our website at www.systimax.com.
Network initialization and configuration should be performed by the network administrator based on network
requirements.
