Both units must be set to the same channels
and CTCSS codes, or they will not
communicate. These codes will not prevent
others from hearing your transmissions.
Note
: In order for other people to receive your
transmission, they must also be on the same
channel and CTCSS sub-channel you are
currently using. Refer to the "Changing
Channels" section for more information.
Respond Prompt Tone
Talk
When the person talking to you from another
radio finishes speaking and releases his
button, you will hear a tone from your unit. This
means that the other radio is now in receive
mode, and you can begin your transmission.
