INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1.
Locate and disconnect the vehicle battery.
2.
Find a suitable place to mount the electronic charging isolator, and the auxiliary
battery. Mounting these close to the main battery is preferred because it will
reduce the overall length of the added wiring. If you intend to mount the auxiliary
battery inside the vehicle or in an area that is more protected than under the
hood such as a battery box, you may want to consider placing the charging
isolator with it for the added protection from the elements.
Note: System components must be mounted as far or farther from the
engine, exhaust and any other heat source or moving parts as the OEM
fuse panel and battery that are located in the engine compartment.
3.
Make the necessary connections according to the included wiring schematic
starting with the main battery. All ground connections should be made directly to
the vehicles negative battery post on the main battery. All 12V+ connections
should be tied directly to the vehicles positive battery post on the main battery. All
wiring for the solenoid, and charging isolator 12V+ connections should be
equivalent size (gauge) to the factory main battery wire or 4 gauge wire
whichever is larger. Also, the chassis ground wire should be upgraded to match
the main power wire size if it isn’t already matched. The 120A circuit breakers
should be wired within 18” of their respective positive battery posts.
4.
The ground supply wire for the charging isolator and solenoid should be 16g.
5.
The manual activation switch also has a built in indicator led that will be
illuminated if the system is active. It should be mounted in a location that is both
highly visible to the driver and easy for them to reach and activate while driving
the vehicle. All wiring for the override switch and the visual alarm should be 16g.
