Operation
1. Make sure that the temperature control knob is in the OFF position.
2. Press the lid latch to open the lid.
3. Fill the container with appropriate oil to a min. oil level of 1.8 litres and a max. of 2 litres.
Adjust the level according to what you plan to fry.
4. Smear a little oil onto the viewing window to prevent it from fogging up during frying.
5. Click the lid shut.
6. Connect the plug to a wall socket.
7. Set the desired time using the timer (see below). The red indicator lamp should be on.
8. When the desired temperature is reached the indicator lamp will turn green.
It takes about 15–20 minutes for the oil to reach operating temperature.
9. When the time has elapsed and the display shows “00” an audible signal will be emitted.
10. Press the lid latch to open the lid.
11. Place the basket of food into the oil container.
12. Carefully close the lid until a click sound is heard.
13. Press/slide the handle lock button and lower the handle. The basket will then be lowered into the oil.
14. When the food is cooked keep the lid closed and lift up the handle to the horizontal position until a click is
heard. The basket should now be above oil level. Let it drain for 10–30 seconds.
15. Press the lid latch until the lid opens. When opening the lid, watch out for hot steam created during frying.
There is a risk of scalding.
16. Remove the basket of food, turn off the temperature control and unplug the fryer.
17. Do not move the fryer until the oil has cooled completely.
18. Change the oil after 8–10 uses or when necessary.
Setting the timer
When first connected to the mains the display will show “00”. Each press of the button increases the set time by
one minute. Continue pressing until the desired time is reached. To reset the timer to “00”, depress the button for
3 seconds. The fryer will be on for the set time.
Cooking tips
•
Always cook food requiring the lowest cooking temperature first.
•
When you cook batches of similar food the oil may cool slightly. Between rounds you should probably wait
3-5 minutes until the fryer regains operating temperature. The green indicator lamp comes on when the fryer
reaches operating temperature.
•
Food which has been precooked requires higher temperatures but a shorter cooking time compared to
food that is raw.
•
Never fill the basket to more than half of its capacity since the optimal operating temperature will decrease.
•
Never mix different types of oils.
•
Use vegetable, corn or olive oil for frying. We recommend that you do not use oils that stale quickly such as
sunflower or similar oils.
