Connect power

3.4 Connect power

3.4.1 Power source

The power source for the SAILOR 6110 mini-C GMDSS must comply with
GMDSS regulations, e.g. there must be a main power source and a battery
backup system.

A suitable power supply, the SAILOR 6081 PSU and Charger, is available
from Cobham SATCOM.

If you are using the SAILOR 6081, connect the power wires in the CAN bus
from the SAILOR 3027 to the 29 V DC output from the SAILOR 6081 PSU
and Charger. For power requirements from the other units in the system,
refer to the specifications in their respective installation manuals.

3.4.2 Connect the power cables

3.4.2.1 SAILOR 3027

The SAILOR 3027 has one CAN connector, which is also used for power
input.

1. Connect the red wire to DC+ and the black wire to DC- in the power

supply.

2. Connect the shield of the CAN cable to chassis on the power supply,

which must be connected to ship ground. See

Ground the units

Note

If you are not using the SAILOR 6081 you must provide a voltage
monitor for your power supply.
