Chapter 2:  Introduction

The SAILOR 600 Viasat Ka system consists of the following units:

• SAILOR 7006D Above Deck Unit (ADU)   

• SAILOR 7016C Antenna Control Unit (ACU)

• SAILOR 7024A pTRIA Interface Unit (PIU)

The system requires a single 50 Ohm coaxial cable to provide the Above Deck Unit (ADU) 
with both DC power, data and control information. The radome does not have to be 
removed neither before nor after the installation. To protect the ADU the built-in motors 
act as brakes during transport and when the ADU is not powered. You can access the 
SAILOR 600 Viasat Ka remotely and make in-depth performance analysis using the built-in 
web interface. The following figure shows the SAILOR 600 Viasat Ka system.
