Usage
• Before plugging in, check that the switch is set at “0”. When you are ready to
begin working, set the switch to I/II and the wheel (7) to the desired tempera-
ture. Within a minute the heat gun will have reached the set temperature.
• Always wear protective gloves and safety glasses.
• The heat gun can be placed in an upright position on all level surfaces and has
a built-in support hook as extra protection against tipping. This way you have
your hands free for other tasks. Avoid getting to close to the nozzle.
• If you are working above the height of your head, you must wear
protective glasses.
• Work from top to bottom. Use appropriate scrapers. Remove the paint with
soft, even strokes with the scraper and at the same time wave the heat gun
back and forth with the heat hitting in front of the scraper. When the paint has
warmed up enough, you can remove it in thick layers with one stroke.
• After proper heating the paint is loosened in the entire width of the scraper.
• The edge of the scraper must be cleaned often in order to preserve the
scraper and ensure that it does not get covered with dirt. Scrape off the paint
immediately while it is warm or it will stiffen up quickly.
• On profiled surfaces the paint must first be warmed up until it softens and then
be removed with a steel brush.
• Cover all nearby surfaces with a non-flammable material, which are not to
be heated.
• Never point the heat gun directly against a window or any other glass surface.
Note:
The heat gun is suited for removing oil and latex based paints. It cannot
remove stains or remains of base or waterproof paints.
Note:
Fumes from paints containing lead are dangerous to your health. Ensure
that there is good ventilation, when working indoors.
Removal of paint/varnish
When you have practiced a bit following our recommendations, you will notice that
it gets easier. First try on small surfaces before you proceed on larger ones.
•
Turn on the power and let the gun reach the working temperature. Hold
the nozzle about 8 – 10 cm from the paint, which you wish to remove. After
a short moment the paint will soften and form blisters.
•
Do not heat too much otherwise the paint will burn and then it will be even
more difficult to remove.
