SECTION 9: SAFETY INFORMATION – THE TEST FLIGHT
We recommend that the Vortex/Orbiter is examined by an experienced helicopter flyer before use.
All controls should be double checked to ensure that all surfaces operate in the correct manner without
stalled servos.
The radio should be checked for adequate range with and without the motor running.
Always follow the frequency control procedures of your local flying site and ensure that you have
adequate third party insurance cover.
Repeat the full pre-flight inspection before every flight.
The Vortex/Orbiter is easily capable of 10 to 15 minute flight times and can be flown both indoors and
outdoors. Due to its light weight it should only be flown outdoors in calm conditions.
If you have not flown a model helicopter before it would be worthwhile investing in a simulator to
familiarise yourself with the controls and responses without the fear and expense of damaging the
model.
CML Distribution can supply suitable simulators. The supplied transmitter includes a trainer jack socket
to allow connection using an adaptor lead to your computer.
