13. Remove the locknut, washer, bolt and short spacer securing the cables to the park brake handle
.
14. Pull the cable ends and compensator link out of the park brake handle assembly to access the cables. Remove
the e-clip and clevis pin securing the cable end in the compensator link

15. Remove the cable from the vehicle.
16. Remove the remaining park cable in the same manner.
PARK BRAKE CABLE INSTALLATION
WARNING
• When replacing cables, both park brake cables on a vehicle must have the same part number. The part
number is stamped on the brake cable sheathing. Failure to use park brake cables with matching part
numbers will prevent proper adjustment needed to keep the vehicle from rolling.
1.
Insert the cable end(s) into the compensator link and secure with clevis pin and e-clip
.
Push the cable ends and compensator link into the park brake handle assembly.
2.
Assemble the cable sheath ends and short spacer in the park brake handle. Orient the clamps as shown so the
stamped bosses in the sides of the park brake handle assembly keep the clamps positioned correctly
